Reply to Dr. Vamvakias's Post: Our family vet thinks hes about a year and a half.He vomits sometimes in the morning before he eats sometimes at night after we've gone to bed. Sometimes he just gags like a dry bark and doen't throw up like a child with whooping cough. I've only felt the wheezing a few times it's not always the same it's high in his chest. He eats at 7am and 3pm a cup at each time. I feel he is on the best dog food NUTRO for small breed. When I found him he weighed 13lbs now he weighs 22lbs so in 4 months he has put on weight. The wheezing sounds like a smokers wheez. He plays constantly with my two shepherd pups and four cats they all are taken care of very well the dogs don't leave our property and the cats don't go out. They see the vet twice a year and are all own preventable meds. Last night he started that dry cough and then threw up right in the bed it's always yellow snot. Thanks

I am guessing he may be having heartburn type acid reflux issues...since the vomit is yellow, suggesting bilary contraction. Why don't you try going to the store and getting Tagamet medication (200mg) and start with 1/4 tablet in the morning and at night. Try this for the weekend and tell me on Monday if you see any improvement.

If you see other changes let me know.
