i have a female boxer age 5, she just mated 2 days ago and has bled since, today what looks like tissue is hanging from her vagina, i called our breeder and he said its normal being the first time she ever mated. what do you think? she also lost all appetite.

Optional Information:
Age: 5; Female; Breed: Boxer

Already Tried:
this is first time dogs actually mated (by accident)i am worried because she stopped eating and besides the bleeding(it might be from going into heat)she has tissue coming out from her vagina(size of a small stool)

Thanks for the question Alexan.

In direct answer to your question : It is not normal for your dog to have piece of tissue hanging out from her vagina and it is also not normal for her to have lost all appetite as a result of the mating.

I can tell you this because I have been in small animal practice for twenty eight years and have had a lot of dog breeders on my books in this time and dealt with their problems regarding matings ect.

My advice : Is you should have your dog checked over by your veterinary surgeon as soon as possible just to be on the safe side. I am sorry I cannot suggest any home remedy in your case.

If I have not covered your question fully enough or you would like to ask more I will be online for the next hour or so and I will be at your disposal
