^ year old Male Boxer

I have a 6 year old male boxer. Ever since he was about 6 months old, he seemed to get out of breath very quickly ands seemed to gasp for air. We had him checked out at several vets and they said he was fine. Last year after a very stressful day, he collapsed and his eyes seemed fixed and just staring not breathing, I immediatley shook him and he regained consciousness and seemed fine except that he was breathing very rapidly and again seemed like he was struggling to get enough breath (gasping and breathing rapidly). I took him to a vet heart specialist, and he said his EKG was normal and his heart seemed just fine. He had another incident today after getting out of our yard and running around the neighborhood for about an hour. I have noticed that when he is sleeping, it seems as though he has sleep apnia(sp) he will stop breathing for many seconds and then gasp for breath again. He does snore but I do not know if that is normal for boxers. Any ideas? The Vet heart specialist is in Seattle Washington and is supose to be one of the best! Thanks for your time, Ray
