puppy in pain while defecating

If my dog has pain when he defecates, what could that be a sign of? he is 12 wks, neutered four days ago, current on all shots. He has no trouble urinating and onlyy expresses pain ( a horrible pain squeak/whine) when mid-poop. It has been happening for 2-3 days.
