My dog has a chronic ear infection. Is there a veterinary specialty in ears? How do I find a veterinarian who specilizes in canine ear infections?

Reply to Dr. Vamvakias's Post: I am trying to avoid having to have the surgery, by agressive intervention now. He had had surgery about five years ago for a chronic infection that had moved into his bola, in the bone. At that time he was treated by a specialist in Sacramento, CA that specialized in eyes and ears. Unfortunately, this veterinarian has now retired. I am concerned that a dermatologist will not know how to treat the infection, as the outer ears look fine, the infection is in the inner ear.
