We just had our 9 month old 3 pound toy chihuahua ...

We just had our 9 month old 3 pound toy chihuahua neutered this morning. Now is bruising and the doctor gave him a shot for inflamation and anti-biotics for infection. Should we do anything else. They did tell us to apply cold compresses twice a day and bring him back on Monday.
