Vomiting Dog 20+ hrs

Sent to Dog Experts September 14 01:08 AM

Hello,

My dog started vomiting last night around 10pm that continued through out the night and into the afternoon, approximately 16 hrs. Water even in small doses triggered her to vomit. She had diarrhea once today in the afternoon. Her mother took her to the vet and had blood work (full panel) and x-rays that were ok per the vet. She was not to be fed or watered for 24hrs except for the small amount of water used to dilute the prescribed Carafate. Metoclopramide was also prescribed and should be started tomorrow. When we gave her the Carafate with 21ml of water she vomited that up in about 15 min. I think 21 ml may have been too much water. If she continues to vomit the Vet planned to take additional x-rays with a chalk. One thing her mother did not tell the Vet was that she drank from a nasty pool of water in the middle of a grassy field in a park where several (20+) other dogs play. We need a 2nd opinion please.
