my sisters little chihauhau was scheduled for spaying today ...

my sisters little chihauhau was scheduled for spaying today and they did blood test prior...the platletts came in extremely low and they have done some other tests -and say she has no disease and don't understand why they are so low. but say that they cannot do surgery because she could bleed to death. What can i tell me sister to do?
