I have a white female Akita. She keeps herself extremely clean, I'm unable to tell when she falls in heat. I can only tell when I get all the dogs from the neighborhood come around.She had her last cycle in July.Can you help me with this problem.Anticipated Thanks, Mike Rivera

Mike:

If she had her last cycle in July, then she would be due to cycle again around January. The best way to tell with long haired girls is to shave down the area surrounding the vulva so you can see the swelling that goes along with the heat cycle. Also, if she is cleaning herself more or has a change in her attitude..some dogs are more distant, some more clingy..this can also give you a good idea that she is in season. Good luck with your girl :)
