Optional Information:
Age: 10; Male; Breed: labrador retriever

Already Tried:
neutering 3-4 months ago-which cleared this problem up for a month or two-as recommended by my vet.

HE HAS RECENTLY SEEN THE VET FOR THE STAPH INFECTION AND WAS GIVEN A RECTAL EXAM TO CHECK HIS PROSTATE, ACCORDING TO THE VET IT IS OK. ORIGINALLY WHEN HE WAS FIRST SEEN, PRIOR TO NEUTERING, HE HAD BLOODWORK DONE. IT CHECKED OUT OK, NO INDICATION OF DIABTETES.I MYSELF FEEL THAT IT MIGHT BE AN INFECTION OF SOME SORT, BEING THAT HE CRAWLS ON HIS BELLY A LOT, SUBSEQUENTLY DRAGGING HIS URETHRA IN THE DIRT. IF THE KEFLEX ISN'T THE SOLUTION-OR IF THE INFECTION IS IMMUNE TO THIS, WHICH ANTI-BIOTIC WOULD YOU RECOMMEND. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

SINCERELY,

NATE

There is not way to recommend one as the bacteria is probably resistant to more than one. Sometimes it may be sensitive to only one or two and without doing a C&S (culture and sensitivity) there is not way to tell without trial and error which could be more expensive than the C&S and would take a LOT longer to get the right one in his system (most likely). There is always a chance of something like bladder or prostate cancer as well butI would think his bloodwork would have been out of whack.
